Baybotox

Well, another episode is over, and I had a great time at Baybeats, the last time we played was 3 years ago, and our set was cut short because we thought we had all the time in the world. This year, we managed to salvaged through, so yahoo to us.

Age, boredom, boycotts, youth and all that matters. When do we know that this is it that we are too old for this shit, I still can't figure it out. When performing and watching a performance become a chore. I enjoy the rush, especially during pre and post performance, all the time.

I like Baybeats, and I don't really bother about the politics surrounding the festival, of course in any festivals they are bound to have all these glitches. I like watching bands getting on it on stage, and I don't really bother much about people dressing up to be at the festival for some vanity purposes. As for me, It was more like a one on one situation.

I guess its ok to be mellow, but to wallow in being mellow is as irritating as a whiny teenager looking for a pacifier. If your gig days are over, fine, stay at home watch TV, play cards or something. Well we are all getting old and I am not in denial either, but let me enjoy this very last bit while I have the energy.

If we are all looking for a greater pasture, go, no one will stop you, let's make the best of what we have while we are still here, and it doesn't take much, just a little bit of appreciation and a nod of understanding.

Sleepless In The East

02:10hrs and I am awake, in 3 hours time I have to get ready to travel all the way upnorth to teach. This is one of those nights where my thoughts begin to linger in the deepest region of all thoughts- FEAR. Well, maybe its the coffee I had while watching Project Runaway or maybe there is a puzzle waiting to be solved. Well, its not boredom definitely, but I am sure it has got to do with some strange chemical disposition or sort reacting to the calmness of the night.

The thing about blogging is that it has the potential for the user to pour their guts out without their knowing, I used to trash them out here, well, as of this morning it is different.

Yesterday, I woke up and felt my body was aching, so I decided to go for a Javanese traditional massage, around the area where I am living, there are three different Javanese massage parlours not the sleazy ones, mind you. And this auntie with great pair of wrestler type of hands massaged me for about an hour. The place has a really good deal, they called it 'The Morning Madness' - from 11am-2pm its about $35.

Ah... those simple pleasures, but there's this massage place called BJ massage somewhere near Kallang, where they had this huge reflexology chart outside the parlour. I wonder why they call it BJ Massage?

When I was in Vietnam 4 years ago, I vividly remember a friend brought us to a massage parlour which was located far away from the city, I thought we were going to have some good, clean massage. As I entered the place, there were 4 or 5 ladies dressed up in gawdy sequinned blouses and 'This Fashion' type of pants sat by the corner, a man with jagged teeth was at the corner. It freaked me out, I changed my mind and decided to eat peanuts and watch Vietnamese TV instead.

When we think of massage, we think of sleaze, we think of special services, but there are genuine masseuse who will massage you with all their soul, like the one I had...seriously. I am not sure what my point is.

This is my massage message to the masses. Like a karma coma and chaka kan.

The Mad Season

With the new Isight device from the new machine.

You know when you are busy, dates all get jumbled up, cancelling meetings due to fatigue and take cabs more often than ever because you need to catch up on sleep. Well for all you know its here again, June was a good rest, the second half of the year is the almighty headless roach.

The development of Sontol Al Loyo is pretty slow, but surely it will happen, plus Baybeats is on this week...and I am all ready with my new Macbook all shiny and glisten with hope. Aren't we all wish we don't have to work? But shit no, we have to do something to make it all worthwhile.

Every week is a brand new obstacle, like thinking about new lesson plan, and I have to take regular Vitamin C supplements to fight the tight schedules.

Here we go!
