Amusing National

We have officially bumped into the space in the gallery theatre at the museum, and the band set-up is looking good. I am pretty much excited to see the outcome of the show, and of course, the official opening of the National Museum, saw Matthew Ngui's L.E.D light installation, and of course can't wait to watch Tzu Nyen's new film about Temasek and of course Sherman Ong's piece as well, the one I was in as Awang Bati the story teller. All is good and swell.

Divine Soap

The production that I have been busy with, for the first time with Tiramisu in a theatre piece. Its a must watch, a Bangsawan remix, a fantastic cast with guest appearence by Kumar.

National Museum of Singapore presents

DIVINE SOAP
by Cake Theatrical Productions

Written by Haresh Sharma
Directed by Natalie Hennedige
Performed by Fared Jainal, Najib Soiman (bijaN), Noorlinah Mohamed, Peter Sau & Siti Khalijah
Also performed by Kumar

Music performed by Tiramisu & Philip Tan
Music directed by Philip Tan
Lighting design by Suven Chan
Set design by Hella Chan

Creative by Nicholas Chee, David Lee & Natalie Hennedige

A brand new show by Cake Theatrical Productions that takes a comically crazy look at the once-comatose artform known
as Bangsawan. This original play will tell stories from the past with a generous dash of humour from the present.
A young handsome king meets a beautiful mysterious young woman. They instantly fall in love. However, she agrees to
marry him only if he asks no questions – about her history. After much merry-making, they have a child. When he is
pressed by ‘society’, he has no choice but to question her. Snap. Double snap. And she’s gone.
Divine Soap presents the story of a Bangsawan, as it was told in the past. It also sheds light on the trials and tribulations
faced by these troupes as they struggle to hang on to their traditions while keeping with the times.
With a buffet of elaborate costumes, ‘special efx’, painted 2-D backdrops, stock comic characters, dance, music and fight
sequences, there’s plenty to savour and delight in.
Get clean. Get cleansed. Soap has never been so divine.

The Year is Ending

I have been busy the past couple of weeks with the band, and helping the school out with assesment. I am currently planning my calendar for next year which is like somehow or rather booked for the first half of the year. For the past couple of years, I have been pre-occupied with work that I rarely have the time to think about the new year. I am not sure if its good or bad but it has been a habit or sort. They say time pass really fast after you turn 25, yes, well its true, and it gets faster as we move along, Its pretty crazy, come to think of it.
What difference does it make? Be it 2005 or 2006? For me, the only think that I am aware at the end of the year is that to get a new Planner from a stationary shop so that I could plan my time for the coming months to come.
Tiramisu had a great set last Saturday at Zouk, it was a blast, I am beginning to get used to the working method of the new line-up, and we got nominated for the Streetstyle Award, surprisingly, we are leading the poll.

So, if you think we deserve it, vote for us, if not vote for others.
Life has been good, smile a lot more than usual, if not fake the smile and smoke some rollies.

The other side of Hip Hop

After a great conversation I had with Simon and Robert about musical genres, I decided to embark upon searching for something different, And I came across this video which I found really interesting and powerful.
